crash course last-min training for tri
10:44 p.m. - 2006-11-19
fri 17/11 - ran/walked for an 1h 30min. felt like crap.heart not in good shape. sat 18/11 - spent the day with Phuong, Chara and Hilda at Nelson's Bay kayaking. Did not see any dolphins, plus i got sea sick. then last min forgoed my run with Jonathan to eat grassjelly desert with the girls. I am SO lazy! sun 19/11 - woke up late, cycle 41km to fullerton cove, saw farm animals like baby goats and cows and sheeps. Loved that farm area. And the other side of the road reminded me of senotsa cove. It a developing private estate by the beach. Fell off my bike there. so bike has another dent. - came back, rested for 30min, went out to newcastle beach 37km. took like 2hours. low glucose. felt could faint anytime cos the sun was horrendous.so pushed bike and rested for some parts. Cos i felt it was a life and death thing....no energy at all.So unfit! but happy that i took on the killer hill near Bar Beach. And great Views of the beaches. Loved that. mon 20/11 - swam 3.5km in morn - missed my cycle - ran/ walked 10km in hothothot sun - rested 20min - ran another 30min with Jonathan. by then legs could not move. so walked too - swam 3.5km in evening squad. Met John who is doing the race on sun too...yay. great to meet otehr triathletes. I am not alone. tue 21/11 (plan) - 5am cycle to nobbys, practise course for this sun - 7am swim squad - eat/rest/pack room in btwn - 12pm run 1hr 30min - 3pm swim to cool down
What i actually did:
- cycled 28km to the beach and back. would love to go earlier to be in time for sunrise
- swam 3.5km with squad
- ran/walked for an hour at 12noon. so hot was giddy.
- swam 2.8km. Asthma after that, which lasted for the next few hours. Heart rate was 60. respiratory rate was 42 at times. Wanted to take a Spirometry reading on myself!!!But did not have the equipment.
